Activity Rates
You use the Activity rates data grid to define the maximum rate at which the resources can perform activities within each individual location.
Columns in the Activity Rates Data Grid
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Active |
|
| Activity | The activity to which the activity rate rule applies. |
| Locations |
The locations to which the activity rate rule applies. Usually, the value for Locations is left as the wildcard to specify all locations.
|
| Resources |
The resource that represents the crew and equipment that perform the activity. You can specify multiple resources. It is recommended that you assign only one resource to each location. For medium-term and long-term scheduling, usually each resource represents a fleet of equipment and crews. For short-term scheduling, usually each individual machine and its crew are represented by a resource. The resource is applied to the locations for a specific activity using the MAX_RATE parameter. The value for the MAX_RATE parameter is the maximum rate at which the activity can be performed by the resource in a single location, assuming the value is the same as or less than the resource capacity. The resource capacity and maximum rate are both limiting parameters, so the lesser of the two values is applied to the resource during scheduling. If you define multiple resources for an activity, the MAX_RATE value is applied to each individual resource, not to the combined resources.
|
| Parameter | The parameter for which you want to set a value for the resources performing the activity at the locations. |
| Value | The value for the parameter. Default values are different for different parameters. |
| Date/event |
The date on which the activity rate rule is applied. You can use a calendar date or an event. The date or event plus the Delay determines the actual start date. You use the Calendar button to select a date from a calendar. You use the Ellipsis button to select an event using the Event Builder. |
| Delay |
The delay after the Date/event before the activity rate rule is applied. The default delay is 0. The delay can be any positive number.
Usually, delays are used when the Date/event is an event, and the actual date that the event occurs is not known until the schedule is run. |
| Comments | Any notes you want to record about the activity rate. |
